Pricing
TradesViz is the price leader in this category and it is not particularly close. Basic is $0, free forever, with a 3,000-trades-per-month import limit — a genuinely usable free tier, not a demo. Pro is $19.99/month, or $14.99/month billed annually ($179/year), and covers all asset types with the full chart and grid feature set. Platinum is $29.99/month, or $22.49/month billed annually, and adds the real-time screener, universal simulator, exit analysis, options flow and the options backtester. Paid tiers come with a 7-day trial.
Postmortem Pro is ₱399–₱1,149/month (~$7–$20, depending on your country) or ₱4,309–₱12,409/year, Basic is ₱299–₱859, and Free is genuinely free forever — auto-sync for one exchange, 30 days analysed, the leak diagnosis and the position-sizing calculator, no card. Payments buy one period and never auto-renew, and GCash, Maya, GrabPay, QR Ph and online banking work alongside cards.
Honestly: at the top of our regional band ($20) TradesViz Pro at $14.99 annually is cheaper than we are, for vastly more surface area. Where the numbers flip is at the bottom of the band — a Philippine trader pays about $7 for Postmortem Pro — and in what a payment commits you to. But nobody should choose between these two on price alone; they are close enough that the actual question is what you want the tool to do.
Analytics: breadth vs a conclusion
This is the honest heart of the comparison, and it isn’t really about features. TradesViz gives you an enormous surface: 600+ charts and statistics, 10 stock charts per trade, 8 indicators per chart, custom dashboards you build from scratch, tag-group analysis, MFE/MAE, running-P&L, seasonality, fundamentals, SEC 13F data. Handed to a trader who will actually sit down and interrogate it, that surface is worth far more than the money.
Postmortem deliberately gives you less. It slices P&L by setup, session, symbol and hold time with funding and fees netted out, and then does the part most traders skip: it names the pattern. Every trade gets a CLEAN / FLAGGED / MIXED verdict with the reason in plain English — “Entered 4 minutes after the previous loss. 3.1× your usual position size.” — mistakes are auto-tagged, and the damage is totalled: “Third revenge trade this week — total drag −$118.”
Both have AI. The difference is who starts the conversation. TradesViz’s AI Q&A and AI Coach are excellent when you ask them something; Postmortem’s verdict lands on the trade whether or not you open the app. If you’ve had a journal for six months and still can’t name the habit costing you the most money, another 40 report types is not the fix — and neither is an AI you have to remember to prompt after a losing day.
Crypto futures depth
TradesViz takes crypto more seriously than any other multi-asset journal here. Their crypto page states plainly that crypto gets "the same tier and list of features as we do for stocks, futures and forex", including sync from most popular exchanges, backtesting and paper trading on historical data. That is a real commitment, not a checkbox.
The gap that remains is the perp-specific one. They document commission and fee tracking; they do not document perpetual funding anywhere public, and their stated market coverage is US, Canada, India and Australia — a brokerage framing that sits oddly on a 24/7 global perp venue. Two things to test during the free tier: import a week of real perp trades and check realised P&L after fees, funding over the hold, and the leverage on each entry.
Postmortem treats all three as first-class because it has no other asset class to compromise for; how the read-only auto-sync works covers the seven exchanges end to end, with requests signed in your browser and secrets stored AES-256-encrypted.
What TradesViz does better
- Analytics depth. Nothing here is close. 600+ charts and statistics against our deliberately narrow set. If you want to slice your data every conceivable way, this is the tool.
- Price. A free-forever tier with a 3,000/month import limit, and Pro at $14.99/month billed annually. On raw value per dollar, TradesViz wins this category outright.
- Multi-asset coverage. Stocks, options and forex are categories Postmortem doesn’t serve at all.
- Simulator breadth. Up to 100× speed with auto-journaling, 35,000+ symbols, 70+ indicators, plus an options strategy backtester. Our blind backtesting is one asset class and one idea.
- Exit analysis. Best-exit, end-of-day and multi-timeframe exit insight on Platinum. We have no equivalent, and it is a genuinely useful lens.
