BACKTESTING
Backtest on real candles, blind.
Hindsight makes every setup look great. Postmortem’s backtesting drops you at a hidden random point in a symbol’s real history and lets you step forward candle by candle, taking entries with a required stop — so you learn the win rate a setup truly has, not the one memory invented.
No date, no cheating
You’re placed at a random point 30–700 days back with the date hidden. Step forward one bar at a time, take long/short entries at the current close with a required stop and optional target, and the engine resolves stop/target hits (stop-first when both hit in one candle) and logs the trade with real prices and auto-computed R.
Any symbol, six timeframes
Type any Binance USDT-perpetual symbol — BTCUSDT, ETHUSDT, SOLUSDT or the long tail — and replay it on 1m, 5m, 15m, 1h, 4h or 1d candles. Name the session after the setup you are testing ("VWAP reclaim — BTC 1h") so the results stay attached to one idea instead of blurring into general practice.
Every simulated trade needs a stop before the engine accepts the entry, and R is computed from that stop — the same risk discipline the journal enforces on real trades. Exits within ±0.05R count as break-even rather than padding the win rate.
Session stats that tell the truth
Each replay session tracks win rate, average R, profit factor and max losing streak, plus a cumulative-R curve — so you can compare setups on evidence instead of vibes before you risk real money.
This is deliberately not an auto-optimizer. Scripted backtests reward curve-fitting parameters to the past; blind replay tests the only variable that follows you into a live session — whether you can spot the setup and execute the plan one candle at a time.
FAQ
Where does the historical data come from?
Real Binance futures candles, streamed bar by bar with the date hidden until the session ends.
How is blind replay different from an automated backtester?
An automated backtester runs a coded rule over history and is easy to curve-fit. Blind replay makes you trade the chart yourself without knowing the date, so the result measures your read of the setup — including hesitation and discipline — not just a formula.
What happens if a candle hits both my stop and my target?
The engine assumes the stop filled first and books the loss. That conservative rule means your replay stats understate a setup rather than flatter it.
Which plan includes backtesting?
Backtesting is a Pro feature.
